Mojito 22 Panga Style

Rivolta Yachts of Sarasota has launched a new small crafts division with their line of Mojito Pangas—boats that are efficient to run and versatile on the water. Panga-style craft, known worldwide for their popularity and wide usage, are characterized by simplicity of design, including clean deck lines and ample deck space. A strong, swooping hull line, shaped like a machete's blade, and a flattened running surface to the stern lets the panga run on the surface of waves and gives the craft its edge over many vessel designs of equivalent size in rougher waters and bigger seas. Their high bows keep the ride dry. The flat hull also drafts less than deep-V hulls, which gets them into shallow water as well.

Originally, pangas were designed by Yamaha engineers more than 50 years ago to provide a platform for anglers and fishers the world over to run versatile boats on small Yamaha outboards, and today, they are used around the world—especially in tropical climates where open boats make sense. They're very popular vessels for charter captains to use in Mexico, Central America and South America, and elsewhere as well.

In Florida, Panga-style craft are made by only a few builders, and Rivolta enters the market with a range of boats: a 16, 18, 18c, 20 and 22 models. All the Mojito Pangas share these distinctive features:

• More beam for increased stability

• Higher gunnels for greater interior volume and security

• Built to CG/NMMA/ABYC specs

• Wood-free for durability

• Unsinkable construction/foam flotation

• HK gel coat

• Deck chemically bonded to hull
