Grilliput - The Lightweight, Stainless Steel Grill-in-a-Tube

Print Recipe

Here's some press about a compact, travel grill that easily fits in a backpack and cools down and cleans up quickly:

The ultimate backcountry option for barbequing over an open flame

Typically, grilling a meal in the backcountry while camping, backpacking, boating, fishing or hunting requires that you bring along an awkward metal grill rack that most people end up storing in a trash bag to keep soot contained. This messy and inconvenient method is a thing of the past with the Grilliput. A compact and self-contained grilling solution, the Grilliput can easily be packed in to even the most remote campsites, and its durable design ensures years of reliable cooking in the great outdoors.

Easily constructed in just a few minutes, the Grilliput is a stainless steel barbeque that is broken down and stored inside a 1-inch wide by 11.5-inch long tube. To use the Grilliput, you simply unscrew the end cap of the tube, remove the pieces, and slide the grill grates and legs into place. The Grilliput weighs a mere 20 ounces, and when assembled it provides a 9.1" x 10.2" grilling surface large enough to prepare a meal for two people.

After you have grilled a delicious meal and the Grilliput has cooled, you can easily clean soiled grill rods by running them through the built-in cleaning groove before storing them back inside the tube. When you return home from your adventures, you can give the Grilliput a more thorough cleaning by popping the completely dishwasher-safe pieces into the machine for a regular wash cycle.

Grilliput allows backpackers, boaters, and other outdoor minimalists to take grilling with them wherever they go. Included in the Grilliput are 1 thick tube with stopper, 1 thin tube with a cleaning groove, 2 outer grill rods with hooks and threads, 10 grill rods and 4 grill feet. Grilliput retails for $29.99 and is available at Campmor, Sport Chalet, and amazon.com.
