Blue Wave 2400 PureBay Boat Review

Let's take a look at the Blue Wave 2400 PureBay in this Florida Sportsman boat review

The Blue Wave 2400 PureBay hull design is meant to handle marginal sea conditions and does so with ease while providing a dry, comfortable ride.

Our test day on the 2400 PureBay 2400 made it quickly apparent why water tests convert so consistently into sales with this model from Blue Wave. The combination of space allotted to each feature below deck combined with the working surface to stand on is perfectly balanced on the 2400.

A pair of insulated fish boxes forward and a third wet box line up in the center deck. To port and starboard a pair of lockable rod lockers offer plenty of dry storage. A 36V trolling motor on a quick release bracket sits on a new integrated pad alongside the anchor hatch. The rear casting deck features a pair of flip-up seats with tackle storage beneath and two storage compartments on the outward edges. A large center release well across the center uses a 3-inch drain to evacuate your baits overboard and a clever magnetic shield that is easily removed from the inlet ports to remove any debris. A second livewell with a clear view panel is also located under the front console seat. Among some notable upgrades for 2021 is a newly styled console with a taller profile creating more space for electronics and all digital gauges. Behind the wheel, the helm station is available in multiple configurations with either drink coolers or an extra baitwell below.

Taking the deck layout and features out of the equation, no deal is ever closed on a boat if the ride doesn't deliver. The 2400 PureBay offered performance that would be hard to top in a bay boat this size. She comes up on plane instantly with 300-HP, provided a comfortable ride in some very choppy conditions, and ate every large yacht wake I could find for breakfast. Additionally, with the 300 power option she delivers 4 MPG at 34-MPH cruising and a remarkable 2.28 MPG at her top speed of 60-MPH.

The fact that this model is so popular in the gulf coast states does not surprise me at all. The fact that the 2400 has been kept a secret from Florida anglers for the most part does. After a day aboard our test model I'd imagine this won't be for long.
