Technical poling skiffs are mission specific boats that gain you access to the shallowest of fishing areas. The Spyder FX-17 Flicker is this manufacturer's smaller technical skiff. The problem with many of these skinny water craft is that they are all about function, but fall short on features. This is what separates the Spyder from many of her competitors. Many of the appointments you would expect to find on a larger flats boat have been incorporated into this fun sized version. The forward casting deck has a molded in toe rail to allow sure footedness while keeping your loose fly line in the boat while casting. The Flicker is also pre-wired for a trolling motor forward on the casting deck adjacent to a forward anchor/storage locker. The forward padded passenger seating with padded back rest ahead of the console sits atop of one of three live wells you'll find on this rig. You'll find two more plumbed live wells across the stern casting deck along with more dry storage. (All hatches are molded fiberglass.) There is under gunnel rod storage along both sides of the console in the liner as well. The Flicker is built from hand laid biaxial glass and high density foam and is built to last. Anglers who like to get off of the beaten path will find this hull a whisper quiet design that poles easily and will slide into the backwater without leaving much of a footprint.
