For the boater who likes coastal fishing and also likes a sporty looking performance hull, this just might be what you're after. The Shearwater X22 is a racy looking high performing Bay Boat that is not only going to get there on time, it's going to be ready to fish when it shows up. Built on a 17-degree deadrise bottom with reverse chines, this boat is designed to get up on the running pad quickly and keep you dry doing while it. She is built for the serious angler despite her racy qualities also featuring a huge forward recessed casting deck that sits atop a large storage compartment center deck and two ten-foot rod lockers built to hold all of the tackle you could ever need in a day. From a fishing standpoint many argue that you can't have too much live well capacity and if that's your opinion, you shouldn't be disappointed here either. Three separate bait wells including a 45-gallon release well, a 25-gallon secondary well both below the aft casting deck, and a backup 18-gallon well under the leaning station should have you covered. The leaning station is comfortable and features twin independent convertible bolsters for sitting or standing at the wheel. Systems access is made easier by use of a removable forward console seat which exposes electrical systems within the console making maintenance simpler. A rear hatch in the cockpit opens to bilge systems such as pumps and through hull fittings allowing easy reachability for inspection and repairs. Having simple access to any systems that require regular maintenance make it much more likely that these chores will be completed on schedule and in this regard, the Shearwater made it easy.
