Sea Hunt Gamefish 30

Trying to design a dual purpose offshore boat presents builders with a set of challenges requiring careful consideration in the planning stage. These days, many boating families need a boat that is set up with features necessary for serious fishing, yet also require a comfortable layout for non-fishing members of the gang. This is a delicate line to walk since adding too much in either department may impede the effectiveness of the other. Sea Hunt has struck a nice balance of the two in their Gamefish 30. The forward area is thoughtfully arranged to allow passengers a comfortable seating area for sunbathing and relaxation yet quickly converts to a walk around fishing platform as well. The boat is offered either with forward wrap-around bench style seats with comfortable cushions and removable back rests that sit forward of a front facing console seat, or with a large coffin style sun lounge and forward casting deck. Insulated boxes beneath either option provide dry storage or fish boxes. The coffin box option features a massive 468-quart box inside. Either of these options can quickly be converted to pure fishing space by removing the cushions and backrests allowing for easy mobility around the casting deck when fishing is your main mission.

The console design is smartly constructed with a large face for all instrumentation and plenty of room for multiple screen MFD's. Additionally, Sea Hunt utilizes an ergonomic design featuring compact profile D-tubing for their Hard Top legs. This tight profile is not only attractive; it also opens up the space around the console for much more working room moving forward or aft while fighting a fish. The cockpit features everything you expect in a serious offshore fishing boat. Behind the “Battle Station” leaning post is mezzanine style seating for two which sits atop a 40-gallon live well which can be divided into two sections. An additional 27-gallon live well is located in the transom alongside an insulated 240-quart fish box. A high pressure wash-down system is available for cockpit clean up after the battle. For landing a large fish or to provide easy access to the water for swimmers and divers, a side entry dive door to Port is very useful as well.

The Gamefish 30 is offered with numerous additional features and when trying to build a boat that appeals to every member of the family there are lots of ways to tackle this challenge. Sea Hunt appears to have a good idea of what the family is looking for with this model. To see a complete list of options and features visit www.seahuntboats.com
