Remembering History: Happy 4th

The concept of independence was approved on July 2, 1776-not on the Fourth of July. It took two more days for the Congress to adopt the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson. In roughly 32 clear sentences it argues why each of us has the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

What we should reflect on is that change doesn't come easy. In the case of the colonials the Revolutionary War, their battle for independence, went on for another seven years.
