Panama City outdoorsman Bo Rivard has been appointed to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in an appointment shuffle that includes the dropping of ex-chair Kathy Barco.
Continuing their seats on the FWC are Kenneth W. Wright, Ronald Bergeron and Richard Corbett. Other commissioners whose terms have not expired are Brian Yablonski, Charles Roberts and Aliese Priddy.
The changes were praised by Florida Sportsman Founder Karl Wickstrom, who said: "Rivard appears to have a very solid background in personal fishing experience, which we think is essential for understanding and regulating the activity. Every indication is that the commission is moving more and more toward a conservative ethic that will benefit the most number of citizens while protecting the resource."
