New Fly Fishing Gear from Patagonia

Press Release from Patagonia

Patagonia Inc., the outdoor apparel company, will offer its largest and most advanced selection of new fly fishing products to date in the Spring 2013 season, with gear and apparel options for everything the anglerrequires. In the wader category, the new Rio-Gallegos Zip-Front Waders, Skeena River Waders and the updated Rio Gallegos Waders all use the company's innovative new Single Seam Construction (SSC). SSC is a breakthrough in wader design that eliminates seams on the interior and exterior of the leg - the highest wear point - and uses only a single seam up the back of the leg for greater durability and less abrasion. All three waders utilize a new 4-layer polyester microfiber fabric with a proprietary waterproof/breathable barrier and bluesign-approved NanoSphere DWR that is highly durable and puncture resistant without multiple layers or added weight. As compared to the 3-layer waders of the past, this collection is more durable and more breathable.

"The breadth of new, award-winning innovative product for Spring '13 truly showsPatagonia's commitment to bringing the world's finest fly fishing product to market," notes Bart Bonime, business unit director for fly fishing, "Innovation is the company's singular focus and Spring '13 represents this commitment across every product category, from waders to footwear and sportswear."

In outerwear, the company is proud to add three unique new pieces to the collection. The new 3-in-1 River Salt Jacket, recent recipient of EFFTEX's 2013 "Best New Clothing" award, is the warmest, most versatile outerwear system for cold weather fishing on the market. The snap-out Nano Puff Shirt can be worn alone, as can the exterior waterproof shell. The Minimalist Wading Jacket is ultralight and provides all of the features of a full-featured wading jacket in an 11-ounce package. The new Shelled Insulator Jacket is a versatile, highly water-resistant insulated soft-shell that provides windproof protection and full-stretch freedom of movement.

In gear and footwear, Patagonia offers two new pack options in the Sweet Pack Vest - an ideal backcountry pack with detachable-vest - and the Stealth Gear Bag - a highly versatile gear bag with a wide mouth opening for easy access and multiple pockets. The new Ultralight Wading Boots (sticky or felt), recent recipient of EFFTEX's 2013 "Best New Footwear" award, are extremely comfortable, supportive and are the lightest weight boot the company has ever produced. Lastly, the new Neoprene Flats Booties are the ultimate flats bootie, with an impenetrable sole that provides greater safety should one encounter spiny coral when walking around the flats.

The Spring 2013 Patagonia Fly Fishing Collection will be available in January 2013.
