International Coastal Cleanup Day, celebrates its 33rd anniversary this saturday, September 15th. Coastal areas worldwide will be participating in this great effort to clean up our oceans.
Costa Del Mar recently launched their
Untangle Our Oceans campaign earlier this year to raise awareness of the growing problem of discarded fishing nets and gear being some of the deadliest forms of plastic in our oceans. Every year, the amount of these grows by an estimated 640,000 tons. They joined forces with Bureo, a dedicated team working with fishermen to prevent used nets from polluting our oceans and harming marine life.
They came up with four stylish designs, all made from plastic pellets, recyced from old fishing nets. Each design has four different lens options. Conservation never looked so good!

For years, Costa Del Mar has been at the forefront of the conservation movement to reduce plastics in our ocean. In 2015, they launched their Kick Plastic campaign to educate their customers about the growing ocean trash issue and encourage them to kick the plastic habit. The brand commissioned a group called "Washed Ashore" to build a nine-foot tall, seven-foot long jumping marlin sculpture created entirely out of beach trash, to serve as a stark reminder of the problem we urgently need to solve. The sculpture is meant to start conversations about how everyone can become more involved in addressing the plastic problem.

The artistic group continues to make large sculptures for various aquariums and exhibits, all out of trash and plastic found in beach cleanups.
