When it comes to fishing bigger is better, and as the keeper of world records for the sport the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) knows big fish. “Bigger is better” can also describe the IGFA's 31st Annual International Auction & Banquet. After hosting the event for three successful years at their headquarters, the event is moving from the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum in Dania Beach to the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, and will take place at 6pm on Friday, January 30, 2015.
From boats and fishing tackle to luxurious once-in-a-lifetime fishing expeditions, there is truly something for everyone in both the silent and live auctions. This year's items include boats from Hell's Bay Boatworks and Mako Marine; original artwork by Dr. Guy Harvey and Florida Keys artist Tim Borski; trips to Costa Rica, Argentina and Australia; and loads of fishing tackle. Bidding is now open online at http://igfa2015.auction-bid.org/micro2.php.
In addition to the excitement of the Auction, the IGFA's prestigious awards, honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to our sport, will be presented. This year's recipient of the IGFA Conservation Award is Tommy Remengesau, Jr., President of Palau, an island country in the western Pacific.
Individual tickets are $250 and table packages begin at $3,000. For more information visit www.igfa.org, or contact Eric Combast at 954-927-2628, or ecombast@igfa.org
