FS Northeast Bash & Tournament Success!

The 3rd Annual Northeast Florida Sportsman Bash & Tournament held this past weekend was an overwhelming success, raising more money than any other FS Forum based tournament in the past. Thanks to our hard working and dedicated voluntary Forum moderators and tournament directors, this years NE Bash & Tournament raised over $20,000 for Yvonne Tison, who is battling Lyme Disease.

The Bash was truly the highlight of the event, with more than 1,500 meal tickets sold and an estimated 2,000 in attendance. While 150 boats registered to fish, the party never stopped back under the tents.

"It was a massive, massive success," remarked Northeast Forum moderator Dave Kajo.

The fishing was superb, yes, with Eddie Cambler and Scott Jones wrestling in a 13.29-pound slam, but the tournament took its shape when the category winners began to donate back both there cash prizes and gear prizes to the Tison's. Cambler and Jones even deferred their slam to take first place flounder, a cash prize, so they could donate it back. Of course, the new recipient of the slam prize, Dan Arvin, decided to follow-up in good nature and give Capt. Vic Tyson his winnings, a duffle bag jammed full of brand new Penn gear. The giving didn't stop there, either.

It's clear that the Northeast Bash & Tournament is all about the community and supporting one another, not just the fish scales.

For more information on the tournament and its beneficiaries, visit the original tournament posting.
