The FS Forum Outta Control trips were a big success!

Well, thats a wrap for the FS Outta Control Trips, both yielding a lot of fun with some top notch fishing. These two trips, sponsored by Florida Sportsman , served as a great way to get out and meet other forum members. The first of the two trips took off on July 30 and returned 48 hours later on August 1, while the second departed on August 2, returning filled with fish and new memories on the 4th.
The crew departed around 5:30 p.m. southbound towards Miami, stopping to catch bait along the way. Once the wells were filled up with a mixture of blue runners, pinfish and spotted grunts, it was time for a nice dinner and then off to the first spot of the trip. The fishing through the first night was not ideal, with the current ripping the crew struggled to get their weights to the bottom and ended up with a lot of space left in the fish box.
After some strategizing by Captain Ralph, the plan was to head further south and fish the Islamorada Hump. From that point on the fishing was nonstop, everyone had rods bent over pulling in big fish after big fish. The fish were hitting everything from live and dead baits to jigs. There was even a sailfish landed and released after eating a vertical jig! All in all, it was a great trip for the members to get out and do what they all love; catch big fish and lots of them. Be on the lookout for upcoming trips to get in on the action!
