Everglades National Park is in the final stages of preparing the Main Park Road and Flamingo
Southern Florida experienced quite a bit of damage after Irma ripped through Florida early September.
The area is expected to open on Saturday, October 7, 2017.
Flamingo will be open from 7am - 7pm daily.
From 7pm -7am, the road will close at West Lake daily.
Boat ramps at Flamingo will be open to public and commercial operator access.
Mariners should use extreme caution as many Aids to Navigation and channel markers are gone and because of presence of other underwater hazards.
Due to hurricane storm damage caused by a large tidal surge:
There is no fuel, food, water or restroom facilities at this time at Flamingo.
The marina store and Flamingo visitor center also remain closed.
Concessions boat tours are suspended until further notice.
The nearest open public restrooms are at West Lake.
The park looks forward to welcoming guests back to Flamingo!
