Extreme Kayak Fishing September Slam 2013

Extreme Kayak/Paddle Board Fishing Tournament September SLAM 2013

The exciting weekend kicked off at the Captains meeting Friday night September 27th, 2013 at Brus Room in Pompano Beach...great food, and lots of prizes including a Lanai Kayak, Go Pro Camera, Costa Sunglasses, Vacation Packages and over 10,000 worth in raffle prizes, as well as free goodies for all the registered anglers!

All week it was calling for bad weather, luckily for Extreme it never came! 82 anglers shot off from Pompano Beach just north of the pier the following Saturday morning all pumped up and ready to win! Amongst these fishermen many made the trip all the way from Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Orlando & Tampa to compete in the EKFT September SLAM!

The festivities began not long after the angler's departure into the calm morning seas... tents were set up all around the big stage. Free entertainment, food, drinks and games were part of the distraction as the crowd waited anxiously on the beach for the anglers to return. Brian Nelli ended up being one of the last anglers to bring his fish to the weigh in station, everyone was in shock!

He won the coveted trophy made by Crown Trophy, $3000.00 cash donated from main Sponsor TURBO USA, COSTA sun glasses, the ENGEL SUP paddle board worth $1,599 & a Guy Harvey necklace. Joe Kraatz with a total weight of 24.5 pounds wins second place taking home a Hobie Outback kayak from one of EKFT's main Sponsors Nautical Ventures, Costa Sun Glasses, $500 cash & a plaque from Crown Trophy.
