The Dolphin Super Skiff is a great little boat with a lot of history that crosses the bridge between a true technical poling skiff that floats in a puddle and a kinder riding flats boat that will handle the chop a little easier. Like any boat you own, the more specific needs you have the more you have to compromise in other areas to make up for it. Obviously, if you want to skim over inches of water you'll need a flat bottom which will pound in the chop. If you want to cut that chop down better, add some V (deadrise) to the bottom which will require more depth to float in. Like I said, tradeoffs. The Dolphins 18 degree deadrise and 8” draft provides a very nice balance of both attributes to allow you your cake and let you eat it too. She comes with a 10-year structural hull warranty (transferable) on an all Closed Cell Foam and Composite construction, (3-piece bonded system with no fasteners,) a High Density Closed Cell Foam Core transom and all Composite stringers as well. The 16 features plenty of dry storage, lighting under gunnels and inside livewell as well as aft storage compartment. There is storage available for up to 10 rods via racks under the gunnels (6 fore/ 4 aft). An oval 28 gallon livewell aft with a high speed pickup and 500-gph pump is standard. All Stainless flush/recessed hardware and hinges and a stainless pop-up nav light and anchor light, also standard. This is a very able little shallow water boat from a company that has been building skiffs for over 50 years for good reason.
