Some super hot sauces need to be kept under lock and key—they're that dangerous in the wrong hands. If you're interested, look into the Scoville rating system for hot peppers that measures the intensity of the capsaicin (the heat agent in peppers).
Florida has datil peppers, first grown in the state near St. Augustine and commonly used by the Minorcan community there. They're used in a variety of recipes, including straight-up hot sauce, like FS member stokes' Datil Sauce. For most folks, that's hot enough. The recipe is in the thread.
