Join These Coastal Waterways Clean-up Sessions.
Swamp Head Brewery, Hell's Bay Boatworks and Coastal Conservation Association Florida (CCA Florida) have teamed up to bring you the Florida Trash Tour! These trash cleanup events will help clean up garbage from our coastal waterways around the state of Florida. Each Trash Tour stop will be run as a tournament-style trash round up with a ton of prizes. Beginning in 2017, we will be traveling through our sunny state, visiting our favorite fishing spots and cleaning up Florida's waterways and we want you to join us.
The 2017 Trash Tour dates and locations include
Cedar Key: Saturday, March 25, 6am-1pm, Cedar Cove Hotel.
? Titusville: Saturday, April 22, 6am-1pm, Parrish Park.
Jacksonville: Saturday, June 10, 6am-1pm, Jim King Park & Boat Ramp at Sisters Creek Marina.
? Steinhatchee: Saturday, August 26, 6am-1pm, Sea Hag Marina.
St. Augustine: Saturday, November 4, 6am-1pm, Location TBD.
There is no entry fee or other costs associated with registering for the Trash Tour and volunteers can gather trash on foot or by boat. Your donation of time and effort to clean up Florida's waterways is plenty for us and all of our amazing sponsors. Participants are encouraged but not required to pre-register and each participant in the Trash Tour will walk away with some goodies. Please come out and join us for a beer, some food, free goodies and a day of competitive display of coastal conservation. Also visit us on Facebook (http://swam.mp/TrashTourFB) or on our webpage (www.swamphead.com/trash-tour). Many thanks to Academy Sports + Outdoors, Drummond Community Bank, Waste Pro, Hydroflask, Boxed Water and the Costa Kick Plastic campaign for sponsoring the Trash Tour!
Marine debris poses a threat to people, kills marine life, causes wildlife entanglement and ingestion, causes economic losses, reduces navigational safety, and damages habitats along our fragile coastlines. Please consider joining Swamp Head, Hell's Bay Boatworks and CCA Florida at one or all of these coastal cleanup events!
