Bahama Boatworks 41 Boat Review

Let's take a closer look at the Bahama 41 from Bahama Boatworks in this boat review

Regardless of the boating lifestyle you enjoy, everybody agrees that a boat offering a smooth, dry ride in heavy weather, combined with beautifully finished parts along with sexy lines is a good thing. In the super center console world, you won't find a better built, beautifully hand crafted with attention to detail vessel, than a Bahama 41. Bahama Boat Works builds fine custom center consoles for the serious fishing enthusiast who wants no compromises. A team with the highest quality boat building experience, along with many years of professional boat captain and fishing experience, joined forces to build a boat specifically made for the blue water adventurer. Bahama Boat Works original mission was to produce the ultimate vessel for south Florida boaters who liked to make regular crossings to the islands for hardcore fishing and diving excursions. A boat that could easily handle the typical rough weather that you inevitably encounter, carry a huge collection of gear and provisions, fish and dive like a champion, and look good doing it was the outcome.

The B41 deck is a clean, uncluttered workspace geared towards the serious fisherman. At 41'x11' it offers an impossibly long footprint to drift in the trough with multiple kites flying and offers abundant room for a team of crew to tend lines. For trolling a traditional spread at speeds up to 15 knots, the boat maintains a level attitude without the need for trim tabs. Bahama prides themselves on the fact that this boat's dynamic stability doesn't require the inclusion of trim tabs at all and they don't even install them, this fact proved to be true on our test days. Running at any speed from idle to over 60 MPH the boat maintained a proper attitude, always providing a firm grip despite our efforts to make her do otherwise.

Forward seating includes port and starboard fish boxes above deck with an open bay splitting the seats in the center. This gap allows free access to the anchor locker while standing on the deck and similarly permits you to work a fish around the bow. An additional cavernous fish box is located in the center deck. Along the centerline of the deck beginning forward of the console and continuing to the transom in the cockpit are three oversized dry storage compartments. Within the center console cabin is 6' 5" of headroom and 13' of additional storage space. Access to the meticulously wired electrical systems is reached from a standing position facing the helm. A clear, false deck in the aft storage compartment protects all through-hull hardware, pumps, pump box, and other mechanical equipment while providing easy access to all for servicing. A 60-gallon live well is standard equipment within the transom and a center cockpit compartment below deck can be added as a second larger well.

Bahama boats are custom built for their owners and can be configured to suit the needs of each. I've seen these boats with some jaw dropping accessories ranging from refrigerated fish storage and gyro stabilizers to exotic wood trim and sound systems along with custom automotive paint jobs. For a custom build it may seem easy to add a host of luxury items and increase your initial investment if you have the means but for the serious fisherman, only concerned with simple beauty and functionality, the base model is a top level performer in anyone's book.
