This style hull is right at home offshore. The gunnels are low enough to gaff a fish but high enough to give you a secure feeling of being inside the boat.
A slight departure in styling from many of the bay boat hull designs in use today, the Andros Tarpon 26 looks more the look of a Panga. This style of hull has been battle tested over the years, especially in the Islands, and has the same great attributes. The extra length and displacement of a 26 foot boat lends itself to adding a tower with a second station. You also can add in more features like stern seating and still have a cockpit large enough for several anglers. A boat this size can navigate the backcountry but may be a better choice, if you want to spend more time offshore or even cross the gulf stream, when compared to a typical bay boat of the same size range.
