All Sections of the Kissimmee River Now Open

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) has reopened the remaining sections of the Kissimmee River to navigation.

Recently, portions of the river had been closed to navigation for public safety reasons, due to dangerous currents caused by discharging floodwaters.

For more information about closings and reopenings affecting FWC-managed areas and FWC offices, go to MyFWC.com/DisasterPlan and select “Open/Closed Status.”
