Michael Shields Memorial 2020 Inshore Open

The Open is held each Fall to raise critically-needed funds for the programs of Project LIFT.

The Michael Shields Memorial Inshore Open is excited to celebrate the 12th Anniversary of this awesome event! The Open is named after longtime Martin County resident Michael Shields, who died at the age of 23 from bone cancer.

The tournament will be held on September 25-26, 2020. It follows a catch and release format, with separate categories for snook, tarpon, trout, and redfish. Anglers are $35.00 and the tournament is state-wide. The Open is held each Fall to raise critically-needed funds for the programs of Project LIFT.

Project LIFT's primary mission is to invest in the lives of at-risk teens ages 14-19. The boy's program offers hope for members struggling with substance abuse, lack of support and academic failures. At no cost to members, the program offers mental health/substance abuse therapy, vocational skills training and mentoring. Licensed therapists and skilled volunteers work to help them replace negative behaviors with self-esteem, skill development and positive goals for the future.
