Expanding a boat's capabilities outward can be accomplished in a number of ways but first you should begin with a boat that warrants the effort based on its existing characteristics. The Ranger 2510 Bay in its original form was an able performer in the backwater as well as near coastal environments but as it happened, the hull design proved to be capable of much more. The soft, dry ride of the 2510 with her generous bow flare demonstrated her ability to explore more distant waters. Subsequently, to accommodate the needs of the blue water enthusiasts; a new look for this boat was conceived.
It's remarkable how much a few simple tweaks to a design can transform a boat. The addition of a full tower with controls and seating for two, multiple extra rod holders, a full sized upper station MFD electronics unit, and a powder coated guide style top framed by a pair of telescopic Carbon Fiber Taco 380 outriggers all combine to easily put you into position to deploy a full spread of offshore trolled or live baits and turn a day of sight fishing for beach Tarpon into a full assault on the Billfish and Tuna with the snap of a finger.
The Ranger 2510 Bay incorporates the best of both worlds from the deck layout of a classic inshore skiff and a blue water center console. Offshore handy features such as a 320-quart insulated fish box forward, large enough to accommodate any hefty pelagic destined for the filet table, and a 40-gallon live well to carry a load of baits offshore for a day are standard equipment. An additional 120-quart cooler and a pair of 9-foot lockers featuring “Patented Power Ventilated Rod Storage” circulating fans (also standard) accommodate extra drinks, food, gear, and keep rods stored in a dry, mildew free environment.
A 36V trolling motor, hydraulic jack plate, and twin PowerPole Blades contribute to the effectiveness of this boats abilities both as a fishing platform inshore and a roomy forward casting deck offers a generous platform to fish from in the morning, then quickly converts into a comfortable sun lounging spot. The “Family Pack” cushion set with removable backrests is a simple touch that can enhance the beach cruising and sandbar recreational time for the entire crew. A step-in console is large enough to include a porta-potty (optional) while housing plenty of dry gear and equipment.
An elaborate list of top quality comfort and utility features are standard items on the 2510 from LED compartment, livewell, cockpit and underwater lights to a custom Ranger dual axle aluminum trailer with disc brakes, sealed LED lights and swing tongue along with top quality hardware and finish work, all included with every boat.
