Yamaha Digital Electric Steering Now Available on Smaller Outboard Models

Florida Sportsman Editor Jeff Weakley joins David Meeler, New Product Manager for Yamaha, during the 2023 Miami International Boat Show to discuss the expansion of Yamaha's Digital Electric Steering system options. Yamaha's DES is an electronically controlled steering system with two different forms; Bolt-on and Built-in. Unlike aftermarket steering system, it is digitally connected from the helm to the engine, requiring no external pumps or steering fluid. It offers stable and assured steering and also steering settings can be changed depending on various boating situations. Lucy Berg, Yamaha Product Specialist, goes into further detail about the technology found inside the new F200 and F150 models.
