Though lure companies still differentiate between bass fishing and inshore soft plastics, anglers can catch more fish and have more lure options if they disregard the distinction. Most baits purchased in the bass fishing or inshore fishing aisles will catch the same species, fresh water or salt. And that's a good thing!
Z-Man Fishing Products recently introduced some new "bass fishing" baits to their proprietary ElaZtech soft-plastic bait line. I won't let that designation stop me from throwing their new jerkbait Finesse ShadZ to seatrout and largemouth bass in the same day. Its lifelike action and durability allow this bait to last throughout the day, something most lure-makers can not claim.
ElaZtech products utilize proprietary, innovative technology that allows the baits to be stretched to twice the length of the lure without snapping or deforming. The material is remarkably soft, pliable, and tougher than traditional soft plastics. ElaZtech resists nicks, cuts, and tears better than other soft baits and boasts one of the highest fish-per-bait ratings on the market. This unique material is also naturally buoyant and floats off the bottom.
The slim, shad-shaped body, thin tail, and action of the 4-inch Finesse ShadZ make them ideal for inshore fishing or bass fishing. Rigged to a jighead or weedless worm hook, the action in the water is enticing. Because of the stretchy material, the soft bait can sometimes be hard to rig to a hook. Baits are 4 inches and come 8 per pack. Colors include Green Pumpkin, Junebug and Watermelon. Price is $4.89.
