World Class Fishing Tournaments in the Abacos

Abaco Beach Resort announces tournament dates and special dockage rates for the 2012 tournament season

Abaco Beach Resort at Boat Harbour announced the anticipated details for the 2012 fishing tournament season. A longtime destination for fishermen worldwide, the resort is once again gearing up to host competitive anglers in search of the perfect catch for the tournament season beginning in May and ending in June. Named one of the top five fishing destinations in the world, the crystal, clear blue waters of the Out Islands serve as the ideal setting for anglers in search of dolphin, tuna and sailfish resulting in some of the most lucrative prize purses in the sport.

As an added bonus for competitive anglers making the resort's state-of-the-art marina their home base, Abaco Beach Resort is offering two special marina dockage rate programs throughout the season. Anglers that sign up for any three tournaments in 2012 (with one tournament being a Round Up Series event) and stay for 60 days or more between April 15 and July 15, will be afforded the new tournament dockage rate of $1.95 per foot per day, offering the flexibility of an outstanding rate and the opportunity to compete in the most exciting and competitive sport fishing tournaments in the Bahamas. Those anglers looking to dock 90 days or more are offered a tournament dockage rate and pay just $1.50 per foot per day, the best high season rate yet.

“It's an exciting time to be in the Abacos during tournament season and we look forward to seeing some familiar faces and welcoming some newcomers into the tradition,” said Chris Higgs, the marina's harbor master. “Preparations are underway and as always this season promises to deliver some memorable catches and great competition.”

Abaco Beach Resort boasts one of the largest marinas in the Bahamas, 198 slips able to accommodate vessels up to 200 feet in length, and provides all the necessary amenities to assist anglers with their catch and preparations for a successful and competitive day at sea. Marina services include 24-hour security, Internet, TV, full detailing and cleaning, electricity and fueling services seven days a week, 365 days a year and on-site customs and immigration clearance provided for those arriving by sea.
