Tips for Using Artificial Shrimp

When it comes to artificial baits, the plastic shrimp is one of the most versatile baits both inshore and offshore.

Like any bait, using the right technique is vital to making your presentation swim naturally, improving your chances of catching and landing more fish. In this FS Seminar, Capt. Rick Ryals shares a few tips on how to make your imitation shrimp look just like the real deal.

As Capt. Ryals explains, many anglers make the mistake of casting and retrieving artificial shrimp much too quickly. Slowing down is one of the most important things an angler can do when it comes to making these look-a-likes swim naturally. Slowing them down, along with thinking critically about how the shrimp moves on the bottom will make a drastic difference when it comes to hooking up with more fish.
