60 years in the boat building industry is evident in Skeeter's new Saltwater Series SX2250 Bay Boat. Designed with the serious fisherman in mind, this boat serves a dual role with a super shallow draft and a hull design that will flatten a choppy bay. It also provides family friendly features for a laid back day of chillin' at the sandbar.
Skeeter's all composite construction and unique aluminum reinforced transom are combined for a level of brute strength normally reserved for an offshore racing hull. Upon closer inspection you will find the attention to detail that makes for an efficient deck layout with hideaway rear jump seats, multiple timer controlled baitwells, horizontal rod storage, stainless steel pull up cleats, a truly self-bailing cockpit, and more.
All of the dry storage compartments are lined with roto-molded poly inserts designed to not only be indestructible but also protect your gear. This includes a rod locker that can accommodate a 9-foot fishing pole and a cockpit compartment that can easily store a five gallon bucket. The RTM process used in the hatch construction makes the underside of each hatch smooth and finished, a nice touch.
Florida Sportsman Boating Editor, Dave East, meet with Capt. Jim Ross at the in-water display of the Miami Boat Show to get a first hand look and take a demo ride on a day where conditions were anything but perfect. “Capt. Ross showed how me well this boat slices through a stiff foot and a half bay chop, running through a series of sharp turns without ever getting so much as a mist on my glasses,” remarked East.
