Sea Born FX22 Bay

Boat manufacturers are getting better and better at fine tuning the features required by their customers these days while simultaneously utilizing every inch of space on their boat. The Sea Born FX-22 Bay is a perfect example of this concept. For a boat in this size range, lots of things have to be considered when laying out the deck configuration. Ideally you should have plenty of free space to fish around forward and aft, while finding a smart deck plan to accommodate the storage needs and below deck fish friendly tools of a serious inshore angler. This boat easily lives up to the challenge. A large forward casting deck is roomy and comfortable enough for two anglers to work side by side without crowding one another. The raised deck provides room below for multiple storage compartments. An anchor locker forward which is prewired inside for a trolling motor leads aft to a large storage locker. Behind the dry locker is a high performance Sea Freeze “tech” style cooler built in with a divider which boasts multi-day ice holding capabilities. Port and Starboard companion lockers offer additional storage including built-in rod racks.

To create a more comfortable work area around the center deck, the FX-22 utilizes a sport- sized console that offers enough space to handle all of your controls, electronics, and helm necessities while maintaining a small footprint on the deck. This is especially useful when working a fish around the boat or passing fore and aft on a choppy day. The front of the console features a comfortable seat, beneath which you'll find one of three live baitwells on board. Under the aft casting deck is a second well on center with a clear lid as well as a third release well to port. In the cockpit the use of a smaller leaning post rocket launcher also allows more space to work around. Twin flip-up jump seats flank the center well and easily stow flat to allow an uncluttered rear casting deck.

The FX-22 features a double stepped hull design which is proven to offer greater performance and fuel economy on this style of boat due to decreased surface drag. This 22 footer has proven to be a very popular addition to the FX Series of boats and it's easy to see why.
