The Release 17 rides like a much larger boat yet still has the agility to float, fully loaded, onto the skinniest of flats. Seventeen feet in length, combined with the 7-foot, 10-inch beam, the hull is stable at rest. An angler can walk fore and aft, on top of the wide gunnels, without disturbing his fishing companion. Max horsepower is 150 and a 30-gallon fuel tank is standard.
The bow casting deck has a huge dry storage compartment just aft of the anchor locker. Twin locking rod boxes protect up to six outfits. Additional storage is found under the stern deck along with a plumbed baitwell.
All composite construction yields a dry hull weight of 985 pounds and it's backed with a lifetime warranty. One unique option was the aluminum poling platform that doubles as a ski pole for towing water toys.
