It's the basic tool for divers spearing fish, but if you're just getting into the sport, which pole spear do you buy? Usually people will start shooting fish using equipment lent to them by friends or family who introduce them to the sport, but once you decide to put down cash for your own spear—what brand, how much, what style—one piece or multi— what tip, where to buy?
Some pole spears aren't expensive at all and provide adequate accuracy and power, and others more expensive earn devoted praise from their owners.
