Mercury 5.7L V10 Verado outboard motor. A lightweight powerhouse, the 700-and-change pound 5.7 V10 Verado outboards from Mercury showed up on a bunch of rigs at the Miami Boat Show—including a triple installation of 400s on this beautiful Valhalla V-37. If our recent Florida Sportsman Sea Trials testing aboard another top-quality step-hull center console, the Contender 39 ST, is any indication, this Valhalla will fly.
Yamaha H2 outboard motor. This one’s not for sale—but maybe down the road? Yamaha announced some updates to the development of the H2 outboard, the world’s first hydrogen-powered outboards for recreational boats It’s built on the 450-horsepower XTO Offshore® platform, with a fuel system developed by Roush and boat developed by Regulator Marine. The H2 is currently undergoing testing at Yamaha’s facility in Bridgeport, Alabama. Yamaha says the H2 outboard is part of the company’s strategy to achieve carbon neutrality: deploying multiple technology solutions, including hydrogen as a potential fuel source. The company's interest in hydrogen technology began in 2003 with early research into alternative energy solutions aimed at reducing environmental impact.

Yamaha Harmo outboard motor. Yamaha’s new HARMO electric outboard is a battery-powered, rim-drive 9.9 horsepower gasoline-powered equivalent rating. It’s offered in 20-inch and 25-inch shaft lengths and may be installed in single or twin configurations. It runs on lithium-ion batteries or Yamaha-approved traditional batteries, and features Stage of Charge (SoC) battery status on the gauge, standard mounting bracket, and low-profile rigging tube designed to ensure ease of mounting on a variety of transoms and pontoons.
Suzuki V6 200 outboard motors. Announced earlier this year, Suzuki Marine announced it is bringing back its Suzuki V6 200 for an improved hole shot experience and maximum low-end torque. The motor has a lighter, more compact size while still offering enhanced power, making it perfect for heavier center consoles and catamarans. There are three different shaft lengths on this model– 20-, 25- and 30-inch – making it versatile for many size boats. Miami Boat Show price: $22,539
Honda-McLaren 300 outboard motors. Honda Marine announced modifications to its BF115, BF140 and BF150 in-line outboards and BF200, BF225 and BF250 V6 models to increase their “durability, comfort, economy, styling, ease of ownership, ease of use, and easier maintenance.” Also Honda celebrated a partnership with sports car legends McLaren Racing, whose design team hitched an extra 50 horses to Honda’s base 250-hp V6 for increased top end power.
