Lantana angler gets grand prize Garmin unit after participating in the Sportsman's Challenge: Reef Roundup.
Florida Sportsman Boating Editor, Dave East, congratulates winner Geoff Thomas with a handshake and a brand new Garmin GPSmap 5208.
The launch of the new Florida Sportsman Fish Chip has been a huge success, giving anglers the ability to load all of the proven fishing hot spots from the Florida Sportsman Fishing Charts onto their GPS units.
To introduce the new fish finding tool, Florida Sportsman magazine held the Sportsman's Challenge: Reef Roundup last summer and fall. In each month in Florida Sportsman magazine, we published four of our Fish Chip GPS numbers from around the state and FS Chips were sent to the first 10 entrants that verified the numbers in a screenshot or digital photo of one of the spots marked on their bottom machine. Of those winners, one grand prize winner was selected to win a GARMIN GPSmap 5208 unit. That lucky angler and Florida Sportsman reader was Geoff Thomas of Lantana, FL.
“To enter the contest I checked one of the everglades numbers and found them to be spot on." "I'm a two boat owner and my new Garmin is going on my big boat" Geoff said.
The FS chips, charted for each of the 11 regions across Florida, are available at the FS store.
