Founded in 1939, Mitchell has been making a quality fishing reel for the fresh and saltwater market. New for 2016, Mitchell released their new MagPro R series of reels.
This reel is aesthetically pleasing, with a grey body and black spool with green accents. A carbon infused body offers strength in a lightweight package, the 3000 size weighing in at 8.8 ounces. An aluminum handle and eva foam grip is comfortable for long days on the water.
Mitchell redesigned the Bail Halo Rotor, insuring even spooling of line and reducing line twists. The MagPro R sports a sealed carbon fiber hybrid drag system, keeping unwanted residue out while maintaining a smooth startup and consistent range all the way to max drag. 14 pounds being the max of the 3000 size. 10 ball bearings throughout the reel makes it the highest bearing count in its class. 5.8:1 gear ratio and 33 inches of line retrieve on the 3000.
The MagPro R is offered in 1000 to 4000 sizes and retails for $89.99. For more information click here.
