Ansil Saunders has held the bonefishing world record since 1971. This year, he will be inducted into the Fly Fishing Hall of Fame and Cold Collaborative is excited to share his story through the film “Mighty Waters”. A man even more graceful and powerful than his back cast, Ansil Saunders led the Bahamas out of colonization alongside Martin Luther King’s march for the United States.
In Bimini, an island in the Bahamas, Martin Luther King found a friend in Ansil. Four days before the assasination of MLK, they sat in Ansil’s boat, sharing psalms while Dr King worked on his final speech - “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.”
Dive into the mangroves with the bonefish legend, as he relives moments with Dr. King, a man whose influence is impossible to overstate, and his political push out of colonization in the Bahamas.
