Swedish designed Headbanger Lures hit the pike and musky mosh pits last year, and now there’s a selection of smaller 4.5-inch models ready to rock the inshore and bass waters. Some significant advances in trolling motor technology were on display at ICAST. This new Force model from Garmin integrates wireless foot pedal and MFD communicativity and also offers a point and click steering option through the handheld remote. Below the surface is an ultra silent, low-vibration brushless motor that won’t spook fish and won’t clutter up sonar returns. Sonar manufacturer Lowrance also is now offering a stealthy, feature-rich troller. Both products are reportedly designed for the freshwater market, but there’s talk of saltwater editions coming soon.
