The International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades, better known as ICAST, is the world's largest sportfishing trade show annually hosting 7,000 members of the sportfishing industry representing 63 countries. ICAST is produced by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), the sportfishing industry's trade association, which looks out for the interests of the entire sportfishing community.


AFTCO introduces its RDT Seat Butt. Build into your rod is an electronic scale that reads out the exact tension of your line. The RDT includes readout, #2 reel seat, scale, and aluminum butt. Price is about $250.


Baker introduced the Gaff 'n' Scale at this year's ICAST. The telescoping gaff shank stretches to 24 inches, and a 26-pound scale allows anglers to control their catch and weight it at the same time. Base price is about $20.


Boomerang's Big Catch H1 pliers are light, dependable and inexpensive. Features include tungsten carbide cutters, all-metal body and retractable lanyard. Base price is $39.95.

Carrot stix

The Carrot Stix Wild Green is built for salt water. Cork grips, Fuji hardware and dual-helical bias construction make it a strong but light rod. Spinning and baitcasting models available. Base price is about $129.
