Florida Sportsman Northeast Tournament and Bash

Tournament to be held Sept. 28 to benefit Taylor Haberman.

The time has come for the Second Annual Florida Sportsman Northeast Tournament and Bash to benefit Taylor Haberman. The event kicks off on Friday, September 27 with a captains meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. at Beach Marine in Jacksonville. One member of each team entered in the tournament is required to attend the captains meeting - it will be a great place to meet other members while getting the guidelines for the following day of fishing. The cost to be included in the fishing will be $40 paid either online HERE or at the captains meeting, this fee includes: entry to the tournament, captain's bag, tee shirt, dinner and beer.

The fishing begins Saturday, September 28 with lines in the water at 7 a.m. There will be an offshore and inshore division. Offshore will be targeting; dolphin, grouper, kingfish, and wahoo while inshore will be fishing for a slam of any three of the four allowed species: redfish, trout, flounder, and whiting. You must weigh three separate species (for a slam), your choice. Natural baits or artificial lures are allowed. Tournament scales open at 1 p.m. with the final weigh in closing at 4 p.m.

Not fishing in the event? The Bash is free for you! There will be a bounce house, lots of kids games, sponsor booths set up and a huge raffle table loaded with awesome stuff to win. The blood mobile will be there as well from noon until they run out of donors. All Florida Sportsman members, family and friends are encouraged to come out and enjoy the event while raising money for Taylor Haberman.

Bash director Dave Gill described the event as "a fun, family event designed to help improve the life of a family that truly needs it. So come have some fun win some prizes in the fishing tournament bid on some awesome raffle prizes and be a part of something that a family will never forget...the support of their community."

Adam Haberman, Taylors father, says the family is "overwhelmed by the amount of support coming from the fisherman, forum members, and people of Jacksonville especially tournament directors Dave Gill, Tony Nesbitt, Steve Crowder, and Anthony Edmonston."
