FS member Rachel Campbell sends in her diving and spearing report from the Keys, a great destination for diving, spearing fish and lobstering, as well as plenty of other hook and line pursuits. Rachel writes:
My name is Rachel Campbell and my husband's name is Michael Rodriguez. We are lower FL Keys locals who love to spearfish. We spearfish both the swallow reefs and mid channel reefs (hogfish and grouper). Sometimes we will head out to the grass flats as well (great for mangrove snapper). We also make time to grab some lobster while we are out. We also like to spear lionfish. The meat is fantastic and it's awesome knowing that we took something out of the environment that's not supposed to be there. It's amazing the feeling that you get knowing that you can catch your own food.
