For Florida anglers, the temperatures already feel like summertime, and a hot day on the water calls for breathable, sun protective leg wear.
Optimal lightweight pants or shorts will provide superior drying, ventilation, stain and water resistance, plus UV protection. In short, they won't make you sweat, but they'll keep the sun off your legs. And if you hop in the water to wade-fish, they'll dry off quickly when you get back in the boat.
ExOfficio's Vent'r Pant features UPF 20-plus to protect against harmful UV rays, a partial inseam mesh for maximum ventilation, two security zip cargo pockets and a drop-in "gadget" pocket. That gadget could be a cell phone, tackle box or pliers.
Comfort features include a microfleece-lined, partial elastic waistband and internal drawstring cord. Available in men's and women's sizes with 32-inch inseam, as well as men's short and women's petite lengths with 30-inch inseam.
The Vent'r is the answer for hot weather adventures. Expect to pay about $75 for one pair.
