A boat that offers a smooth transition point between bay and offshore fishing capabilities is very appealing to those coastal/inshore fisherman wanting to expand their horizons into deeper waters. Likewise, offshore anglers who seek to spend more time near coastal backwaters yet don't want to give up offshore capability entirely will find this class appealing. The Sea Born LX24 XE is a perfect example of what it takes to please both of these user groups.
The LX24 shares more in common with an offshore boat than your typical bay boat by nature of her interior layout. More sunken cockpit than elevated casting surfaces lend a safer feeling while fishing in the blue water on rougher days. She does however offer forward seating which easily provides an elevated vantage point to see, cast, or throw a net from. Located beneath the forward seating are matching fish box/storage compartments. A front console seat is also equipped with an insulated drink well. Three trim packages are offered (SE, LE, XE) ranging from a simple soft T-top to a fiberglass hardtop with sliding Moon Roof and second station along with Simrad evo3 12” upgrade. Port side entry into the console provides access to a large usable storage space with a marine head. The LX24 cockpit features a wide transom bench seat for two alongside a port corner located 30-gallon well. The bench seat splits in half to reveal a massive access point through the center for working in the bilge and a starboard side insulated cooler box which can be plumbed as a second 30-gallon well.
Consistent with the entire Sea Born line of boats, even the entry level packages are fully equipped with features you'd typically pay for as an upgrade. Simrad electronics, quality stainless hardware, cushion sets, coaming bolsters, LED lighting throughout, and much more are all standard equipment providing you with a fully water ready, rigged boat at point of purchase. The Sea Born LX24 XE package that we tested turned quite a few heads at the dock, rode like a champ in the big water, floated in just over a foot deep at the sand bar and comes in at a price point that many associate with a much smaller boat. What's not to like?
