Boat Review - Sea Born LX24 LT

Let's take a closer look at the Sea Born LX24 LT in this boat review.

Let's see what the LX 24 has to offer on the water.

Building a center console boat in this size range that can be called a “true offshore ready” boat requires some carefully considered design qualities to assure everyone's safety and comfort.

The combination of a sharp bow entry, generous bow flare, and double-step bottom design incorporated into the LX 24 LT by Sea Born, result in a boat built to keep you comfortable well beyond the beach. This model when we tested her last, handled a very stiff outgoing tide opposing a brisk onshore wind and the stacked up standing waves like a champ, keeping all of our passengers dry and comfortable.

In addition to stability, boaters these days require versatility as well. For the boater looking to combine offshore with inshore friendliness, both fishing and cruising, this model delivers features built to handle all of the above. The LX24 LT features V-shaped forward seating which serves dual purposes.

These comfortable seats include removable backrests for forward facing lounging and offer your guests a place to relax while also providing two insulated storage compartments for fish or gear storage within their interior. Additional seating is found in the cockpit across the transom on a double wide bench. Beneath the split bench seat you'll find another storage hatch alongside a large access hatch leading to the rear bilge. This access is very convenient for servicing systems below deck and is roomy enough to work comfortably within.

The center console is large enough to accommodate a head accessed through a portside door, yet still won't restrict your ability to move around the boat. Anglers will appreciate the open fish-around deck layout. A nice balance of forward and aft deck space is complemented by a user friendly heads-up helm face under a stylish hard top. The leaning/seated helm station also features rod holders and a drink cooler beneath. Deck storage hatches and a circular lighted live well add to fishability.

The LX24 provides a diverse range of options for a family who likes variety. She's equally at home offshore fishing as she is in the river cruising or fishing the beach and is a solid platform to consider while on the hunt for a family friendly center console in this size class.
