Boat Review - Carolina Skiff 21 LS

Boat Review - Carolina Skiff 21 LS
The Carolina Skiff 21LS raises the bar for this brand in the style department.

Carolina Skiff has certainly come a long way from their beginnings as a builder of rugged work skiffs and this fact is evident when you survey the finish work on the company's LS Series of boats. The 21 LS retains the rugged durability of her predecessors while incorporating a more polished appearance along with comfortable features into the design. Beginning with a full molded liner hull construction, the 21 LS not only offers a more attractive, finished topside, the use of an inner liner allows each compartment to be an integral molded component of the construction. This liner effectively forms a more rigid bond between the hull bottom and the deck which in turn provides a more solid feeling ride. The self-bailing deck design also quickly sheds water from the deck keeping your feet dry should a wave make its way over the rail or if you find yourself caught in an unexpected downpour.

The raised forward deck features all molded compartments below including an anchor locker and below deck battery storage. A pair of molded gear storage compartments provide space for tackle and safety equipment and feature overboard drainage ports. All of these compartments are equipped with Marine Board lids and utilize friction hinges. An optional 12/24V trolling motor mount and wiring are available along with a SS Split Bow Rail and Swivel Fishing Seat on an 11” pedestal/base.

The 21 LS console features full instrumentation and a lockable interior access door. A front passenger upholstered seat at the face of the console also offers storage beneath which can be converted into a live baitwell. Options for your shade top include a Bimini Top or your choice of T-Top designs ranging from a canvas top to a molded fiberglass hard top with LED courtesy lighting, an LED Spreader light and overhead Electronics Box. Anodized finish or Powder Coating are each available. A Stainless cooler frame seat with an adjustable backrest along with a 70-quart cooler are standard equipment and as an upgrade the 21 LS can be rigged with an Ultra Leaning Post with a backrest, fold down footrest, cooler below, rod holders (4) as well as cup holders.

The rear deck is an elevated platform as well and also features convenient Fold Down Jump Seats with adjacent cup holders and grab handles. An 18 gallon live well below deck features a 500 GPH Aerator pump. A pop out service hatch in the splash well provides access to your bilge and a stainless steel 3-step boarding ladder equipped Swim Platform at the transom facilitates easy water entry.

The LS series of boats from Carolina Skiff offers a tough yet stylish platform to be used for a number of activities that should appeal to any water active family who demands a lot from a boat and also need a platform that will stand up to a lot of punishment while looking good doing it.
