Boat Review - Belzona 27CC

In this boat review, we take a closer look at the Belzona 27CC

This racy new sportfish oriented look is a welcome addition to the Belzona line-up.

The Belzona brand is known for combining luxury style with sport, cruise, and fish functionality. A quick look at their model line-up reveals attention to details more important to the luxury brand boat with comfort holding a greater priority over fishability. The new 27CC is a bit of a departure from Belzona's style, but this mid-sized center console speaks directly to the dedicated angler and offers features that serious anglers demand without drifting too far away from the brand's heritage.

This forward seating model is open enough across the foredeck to allow easy 360-degree fishability while retaining wraparound seating with storage below for comfort and convenience. A 340-quart insulated fish hold below deck forward joins a pair of 222-quart insulated holds aft to store your catch and ice, while a 45-quart forward compartment handles food and drinks. A 29-gallon live well to port on the transom is standard.

A design innovation that Belzona is known for is integrated into this model with a new twist. Rather than the Belzona trademark sliding dive door, the 27CC features the new Belzona rearward swinging “Jumper Door” for boarding dockside or diver/sand bar convenience. The door in this instance is articulated back on hardware so smooth that the combination of smart engineering and the fact that the carbon fiber construction weighs so little- the door can be operated with almost zero effort. The lightweight construction also eliminates the risk of the kids closing a finger or toe in it.

The 21.5-degree deadrise performance on the Belzona 27CC offshore offered a good combination of soft ride and speed while stability at low speeds or adrift was comfortable due to her 9-foot 4-inch beam. Fuel economy is also very impressive with the standard twin 200 Mercury package averaging 2.5 MPG cruising and 500 miles of range on 200 gallons.

If Belzona's intention to strip down their existing 27-foot model to bare essentials and focus on the serious anglers wish list continues into other models within their lineup- I'd be at the front of the line to see what the potential new look for this brand has to offer.
