Angler Ten Grand Richer for Catching Coconuts Dolphin



Alan Walther of Albany, N.Y., placed first overall for a $10,000 grand prize in the Coconuts Dolphin Tournament that ended Sunday, May 20, in the Florida Keys.

Walther won with a 40.6-pound dolphin caught on the Jackpot based in Key Largo.

Bill Devierno, of Davie, Fla., placed second for a $2,000 prize with a 40.2-pound dolphin he landed on the Bottom II.



Fishing on the Bad Boyz Fishing Club, Bill Dolan from Cutler Bay, Fla., finished third for $1,000 with a 35.3-pound fish.

Tavernier, Fla., resident Stacy Attales won the ladies' division and $1,000 prize for her 32.3-pound dolphin, fishing on Contagious.

Tournament organizer Colleen Mountain reported the event attracted 337 anglers.
