The Florida Sportsman Communications Network announces the debut of Shallow Water Angler Television (SWA TV).

SWA TV is the first saltwater fishing show to feature in-depth, how-to coverage of spin, plug and fly fishing in a TV magazine format. It highlights techniques used by experts in inshore salt waters from Texas to New England.

"For years, people have asked us, 'When is Florida Sportsman going to do a fishing show?' Well, the time has come. But we're starting with its little sister, Shallow Water Angler," says Florida Sportsman publisher Blair Wickstrom. "It just made more sense to use Shallow Water Angler, which covers inshore fishing from Maine to Texas on The Outdoor Channel, which has a national audience of 40-plus million households. An all-new Florida Sportsman Television will debut in April on the Sunshine Network."

Each of the 13 half-hour shows is hosted by the editors and publisher of Shallow Water Angler (SWA) magazine along with local, expert guides who focus on a single angling technique or concept and apply it to three vastly different inshore fisheries.

“The popularity of inshore, shallow water fishing has become a growth phenomenon,” said Mike Conner, Editor of SWA magazine, “ so we are extending our in-depth coverage of this exciting sport to television.”

The premier episode, “Fins and Tails,” features the most exciting and challenging style of inshore fishing--sight fishing on the flats. Viewers will learn the tricks of the trade in an action-packed half-hour that takes them from stalking tailing redfish in Charleston, to chasing rolling Tarpon in the Florida Keys, and then finally to Miami’s Biscayne Bay to bag the world’s biggest tailing bonefish. That's fins & tails from the Florida Keys to the Carolinas. It couldn't be any more exciting!

Subsequent episodes cover “Fishing Structure,” “The Magic Hour,” “Reading the Water,” “Tide Secrets,” “Fishing the Water Column,” and more.

Beginning January 2nd, SWA Television airs Sundays at 7:30 PM EST on The Outdoor Channel. Each new episode actually airs first on Tuesdays at 4:30 PM, Saturdays at 8:30 AM, and then the main time slot on Sunday.
