Picking the Right Boat
Episode 10
AIRTIMES THIS WEEK
Sun Sports Network
The Sportsman Channel SHOW DESCRIPTION Have you ever heard someone say, “there’s no one perfect boat”, and thought, there must be? You’re wrong, there isn’t. If you’re an angler there are just too many fishing opportunities out there for one boat. Granted, some are close, but to have the best boat for everything the water throws at you, you’d need at least four boats. A technical poling skiff is the answer when you’ve got short runs and water less than a foot. Crossover skiffs are bigger flats boats, perfect if you have to run across open water, yet still want fishing stealth. A bay boat is for the angler that can’t resist migrating species near shore, yet still wants to fish skinny water much of the time. And, a center console for rougher seas and longer runs. Tune in this week as we fish with Blair Wickstrom in the less protected area of the St. Lucie River on a larger 22-foot flats boat. And we head to the west coast and fish offshore for Kingfish in St. Petersburg. On the Conservation Front: Founder Karl Wickstrom looks at the Park Service’s plans to re-do the facilities at Flamingo in the Everglades National Park. SEGMENT #1
