The organizers of a relatively new event, the eight-year old Oldest City Red Trout Classic at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor in St. Augustine, raised more than $60,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s efforts to find a cure for the disabling disease. Held in mid-October, anglers came out in strong support of the cause, with 22 boats competing in the Redbone event presented by PSS WorldMedical Inc.

The Oldest City Red Trout Classic is a catch and release tournament, part of the well-known, popular and wide-ranging Redbone Celebrity Tournament Series. Throughout the year, the Redbone, which originated in the Keys, now sponsors tournaments up and down the East Coast, in The Bahamas, out West, on the Gulf and in Mexico, all of them to raise money to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

During the two-day competition, guides and anglers teamed up to catch redfish and trout. Winners of the tournament included:
