Return to the 10,000 Islands

On this week’s episode of Reel Time with Florida Sportsman, Capt. George Gozdz takes a step back in time. It had been years since Capt. George had ventured down to the 10,000 Islands region of the state, much too long for anyone who enjoys catching redfish, snook, trout, and tarpon, back to back. Capt. George and the Reel Time crew bunked overnight in Everglades City, and met up with Jeff aka “nightfly” from the Florida Sportsman Forums the next morning.  They launched the boat in Chokoloskee and headed out in search of pilchards for chumming the miles of mangrove shorelines, teeming with a variety of “slam” applicable species. In no time flat, Capt. George and Jeff were pulling snook out of the thick mangrove cover, sight casting cruising reds, and tossing topwaters at hungry trout. Oh, it was good to be back in the 10,000 Islands.
