LATE REDFISH REPORT
By Captbigjohn, 11/06/09
I departed the ramp at about 8 am with Barb Smith from NJ on board. We had a good day with the reds, finding them on the oysters. Using soft plastic Barb released 5 and this one went home for dinner.

WINDY NAPLES OFFSHORE
By Sololobo30, 11/06/09
I fished with two gentlemen here in Naples on business today. Wind was a howling. We got a well full of bait and stayed close. The bite was non stop. Caught the snot out of big Spanish mackerel, 2 15 pound kingfish, a 26 inch gag grouper, jumped a tarpon, and caught few snook at the end. Looks like the winds going to hang around for a couple days but the action isn't far offshore.

TARGETING REDFISH
By PTPC, 10/24/09
Great tide today. Water fell till about 2pm. We got on the water at 6:45 and started running South and working up a plan. The most productive spots were very shallow outer islands and in the lee. We poled through, throwing jigs at the reds. We boated five slot reds and one of three drum that came to the surface just long enough to give up their location. Home by 2pm today... That’s a first!

10K TRIP IN MY NEW SKIFF
By hooked On Snook, 10/20/09
I took my new to me 17 Maverick over to the 10k for its first everglades trip. Put in before dark and ran to the outside of Rabbit Key Pass. The stars were absolutely incredible this morning with the new moon and clear skies! We shut the boat down and just laid on the deck and watched them fro 20 min or so till the dawn faded them away. We saw 10 or so shooting stars in a very short time which was pretty amazing and an awesome start to the day. We made the long, cold run down to Lostmans, stopping at the markers for bait, but no-one was home...
